Most people face the common dilemma when purchasing new windows having to decided between acoustic glass and triple glazing. Which one is best and which one should you choose?

To help you decide which one is best for your home here is a closer look into both acoustic glass and triple glazing.

.

What is acoustic glass

Acoustic glass consists of two or more laminated glass panes bounded together with one or more acoustics layers that absorbs sound and vibrations.

Benefits of acoustic glass

Soundproofing

Acoustic glass significantly reduces the outside noises seeping through the glass and into your home – ideal if you live in a busy area.

Security

Acoustic glass is not only ideal for noise reduction but for security too as it increases the strength of the glass, making it much more secure compared to standard glass.

Whats is triple glazing?

The structure of triple glazing is similar to double glazing which is made up by two panes of glass separated by a pocket of argon gas, triple glazing however has an extra layer of glass, separated by gaps filled with argon gas.

Benefits of triple glazing

Thermal efficiency

Triple glazing is ideal if your home has the tendency to get cold as it has excellent thermal efficiency, helping the heat to stay in.

Security

Triple glazed windows are considerably tougher than standard double glazing due to being made you of three layers of glass, this helps protecting your home form intruders.

Noise reduction

The extra layer of insulation helps reducing the noise that come into your home.
